Fr Mendonca, a priest in Mangalore(India), was nearly scammed when a fake priest (Fr. Steeve Gollan) called to request help for an “adopted” boy who had lost his belongings when traveling to India. Apparently, the scam is about transferring of “funds” into Fr Mendonca’s bank account, so that he can pass the money to the boy in India.

Fr Mendonca checked and confirmed that it was a scam, and the boy who was supposed to receive the money was caught.
