Job Scam: Income Booster Group

If received a job offer via email with the following subject:

Subject: 100% INCOME GUARANTEED FROM HOME **** NOT A SPAM ****

This is certainly a Spam, and definitely a Scam. The scheme is a job scam plus fake check scam.

“We decided to hire individuals over the internet who will help us receive and deposit the check payments. Upon receipt, you will deposit it in your bank account, we will keep in touch with the client to know when funds have been deducted from their accounts, when it has been deducted, we will inform you immediately to go to your bank and draw the money from your account.“

They will send you a check, and the bank will release the funds to you in 3 days. After 10 days when the bank found out that the check is fake, they will demand the money back from you.

So what? The problem is that the scammers will ask you to send them CASH after the 3rd day, so that by the time you find out on the 10th day, you will OWE the Bank money.

The email is also typical of a scam mail, why? Free email address and grammatical/spelling mistakes. We don’t expect such badly written email from established companies who is genuinely hiring.

Fortunately, not many fall into such scams these days, or it will add-on to the burden of the Bank which is already running out of cash.
