]]>Belmont, Mass. – A Belmont resident is reportedly out nearly $90,000 after taking part in an investment scam for more than four years.

The Oxford Avenue resident said he and a friend from Acton were
originally contacted by a man claiming to represent an investment
company because they were alumni of a university in China. Since early
2005, both men deposited large sums of money with the company.

Both believed the man lived in Michigan, while the company was based
in Minnesota. There was no face-to-face interaction, they reported; all
business was conducted via mail, phone or e-mail
