We received a tip-off at the gogochin.com complaint page to check on the domain AOEMall.com, (see comments) where we have a visitor from France who claimed that he was scammed by them. This is a Chinese company based on some background check.

Firstly, there were already reviews on the web about this site, but most notably one of the thread at Q&A thread at Yahoo Answers was deleted. The other Q&A remains and there were 2 reviews: One says its a scam because its from China, while the other gives a full testimonial like this:

5 Nov 09: a few days ago, i bought 3 pcs latops, i received in 7 days,it is very fast, the goods is very cheap, i will buy again,it come from china. it is good corp.

We visited AOEMall.com and it was redirected to RCModelHobby.com. As of today, the website has been setup using a shopping cart, but the contact information and some pages remain blank with only “sample data”.

Based on the above, would you trust buying from these guys?

– On 5 Nov 09, Someone claimed that they bought and received the goods.

– In Nov/Dec 09, the site’s name disappeared and was redirected to a new shopping site that is under construction.

In addition, we managed to find one review at Sitejabber below. Including our visitor’s review, that would make 3 reviews. They might not have cheated that many people.

Based on what we see now, we do not think that we are “comfortable” buying from them. A professional buyer doesn’t look at the price and says “Ok”. When dealing with Chinese company, sometimes we even question what we see. There are stories written everywhere, including those NYT bestsellers. There are too many stories of what happened in China to be covered in a short article like this.

Hint: There is a book about both Sun Tze’s 36 strategies + doing business in China.
