Here is another report claiming that US$100 million are lost to 419 scam every year. The amount is undisputable and could be even higher with reports from many countries including Canada, Australia, India and more.
A large deal of the scams were lottery scams where the victims were made to “pay and pay” fees and commissions, hoping to claim the “prize money”.
