If you received an email claiming that you have won a lottery from UNICEF, it is a scam because UNICEF does not run lottery and give away free money. The email is NOT from UNICEF.

The real UNICEF is created to help provide emergency food and healthcare to children, and relies on contributions from governments and private donors. They do not give away free money to strangers like You who contributed nothing to the charity organisation. (If you did, its a mere coincidence, and you deserve a pat on your back.)

http://www.unicef.org/

The acronym UNICEF came from the original term United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund. Subsequently, it was shortened to United Nations Children’s Fund but the popular acronym continued to be used.

What is more, its from Nigeria, where else could have been more suspicious (smirks).
