South African 2010 World Cup Bid Lottery Award

Any good or bad event can be used as the background story for a scam, even when it sounds so ridiculous. The best thing is that they have used email addresses from eBay, Yahoo and webmail.co.za, my goodness.

Hi, love your blog, I've discovered it last week and read it these past few days, but I have a problem with your RSS feed. It throws out an error when I click on it. Maybe other people have the same problem, so can you tell us if anything special needs to be done or just clicking on the RSS feed buttin should do the job?

Hi, just got a similar email from a certain mrs.vivian grant (online coordinator). it says though in the attached letter that the lottery bid was held in canada. They only asked me though to email these details to their claim agent (name, address, nationality, sex, age, phone/fax, occupation,email-ticket/winning number), which i just did before reading your comments guys. I agree that this is really good to be true but is this for real?

People need to know these scam-mails are out there by some small-time morons looking for your info with their crappy typos and bad grammar. But a few of these -- I just recieved one today -- are slick, professional-looking jobs and you really have to worry who is behind those. In the current economy, even the most wary may be taken in by something that looks like it is real. We all know that if it looks too good to be true, it almost definitely is... but who among us doesn't dream? Just don't give away your whole identity for that dream online.

Just read through the dialogues/comments, it is really great to find out it is indeed a scam! I suppose I could almost trapped this group of scammers; to prevent them from scamming more innoncent souls, unfortunately, with no income then would be impossible for me to do so now!!! Lol! ;)
