Lottery Scam: Exxon Mobil

We seemed to be getting lesser lottery scam mails these days. There are also fewer news of people getting scammed by it. But here is a short one where the scammer is trying to make some money to start the new year.

Subject: EXXON MOBIL END OF YEAR FINAL AWARD NOTIFICATION

You have been selected in the on-going EXXON-MOBIL e-mail award programme
held this Month. We the promo board are pleased to inform you that, you
alongside four(4) other lucky winners have been approved for a payment of
500,000.00 USD. (Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) in cash.
Your verification number is: (EM-389-6373,FGN/P-073-78).

There is no such thing as an “email award programme”. All those people who replied and paid fees to such program lost alot of money.

In some cases, the scammer will keep asking for money as long as you keep asking for your “rewards” after the initial payment.
