"Evergreen" UK Online National Lottery Scam

Here goes the mail.

btw, one thing I learnt about relaxing your eyes is to focus on green stuff near and far from where you are standing. Assuming that you are drinking a coffee near an open space, focus on something close to you that is green... then lookup and focus on that tree a distance away. We heard that this exercise is good for your eyes, but we are not responsible for any side effects!

btw, the following scam mail is definitely not good for your wallet. It is published here so that you can read and forget about it.

These people at Evergreem Promotions just stay evergreen.  Still at it - I've also just won 800K pounds, according to text received 4/5/ 2010.  Not a chance in hell that I would reply.  Thanks for your good work on this website.

Identical text message received today (25/06/2010) saying I won 800K pounds.  Thank goodness for your website advising us it is a scam. Obviously will not be pursuing it... The dream though will always continue..

They're getting more generous, I've won one million British pounds today in the FIFA Mobile Promotion. I'll be seeing flying pigs next.

I too recieved an sms to say that I have won 500,000 pound.  This is a sick scam!!!  Who authorises this and what do they intend to gain from this.  I too am a South African and recieved an sms to contact admin@evergreenpromotions.co.uk to claim with my reference number.

Just got an sms also from admin@evergreenpromotions stating I had won 500,000 pounds on a FIFA 2010 WC promotion. Even though the sms came from a UK cellphone, I think Evergreen is a South African scamming organisation, using the UK as the credible front for their criminal activities. Check out their website; no licenses or permits from any authority controlling lotteries, just a UK number as a contact. BEWARE!

I refused to give my bank details and told them to post a bank Guaranteed cheque. A company then calling itself Diplomatic Courier Services telling me they had received a HSBC bank draft for delivery to me if I supply them with my addresses. I checked them and found they were based in Hillbrow!

My brother also received a sms yesterday stating that he won 800 000 dollars or pounds. He must send a mail to admin@evergreenpromotions.co.uk / It sounded funny to me as well, and i searched google with that e-mail address. And bang, I got all your replies to a previous scam via internet.

I think people should wake up and realize that if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

I received an sms stating that I have won 500 000 US dollars in a FIFA 2010 Promotion Draw. I should claim this from a UK company (called evergreen promotions). I happen to life in South Africa.
I'm sure this is a scam: nowing our government, they only use SA companies for anything related to the 2010 World Cup since they get such a lot of publicity (and possible votes) from it. Also, how stupid would any company be not to maximize their publicity when giving away this kind of money! It is equal to roughly 4 million SA Rand.

Once e-mailing you get an 'official' reply from HSBC Bank.  Once googled, the name, address, etc are all correct.  Have not gone any further with this one - but it would have been great.

I got exactly the same sms and I also live in SA. I know that you can't win something you haven't entered, but have never received these scams by sms before - always email. Sure enough, one google and loads of entries against this email address (admin@evergreenpromotions.co.uk) - all listing complaints or scams. Don't fall for it people!
