Currently the hot scams in China is a 419-type scam using the name of 2008 Beijing Olympics as disguise. The fees are relative low, but nonetheless still a 419 scam.
1) Scammer called Li saying that he has won 98,000 Yuan (approx. US$12,600).
2) Scammer told Li to pay 210 Yuan (US$27) as commission to claim the price.
3) Li paid the money
4) Scammer told Li to pay Another 980 Yuan (US$126)
JUST PAY AND PAY IF YOU WANT TO CLAIM THE PRIZE.
This is the characteristics of 419 lottery scams worldwide. Scammers will make greedy victims pay and pay, who are hoping to claim the prize one day. And this day will never come even after the victim has cleaned out his whole bank account. Not all 419 scams go on emails (which is why we say 419 scam mail database is useless a long time ago).
