Yorkie Puppy Scam
If you receive an email like this offering puppies for free, it is a puppy scam. This offer is too good to be true and the scammer will eventually provide reasons for you to pay for something. If you love dogs, he will exploit this weakness after drawing you in for a “free deal” which turn out isn’t free.
Do not fall for it. Check out all our visitors comments below. Many have experienced such scams either through email or online classifieds. Some are even approached by strangers.

UGH Can’t believe I was this close to being scammed.
Put an ad up looking for a puppy online because I wanted to adopt one for my uncle (shelters would not allow me).
Here’s the email I got from khawood45@gmail.com: My little girl is just 13 weeks old and just am not really looking forward to sell her. The simple reason why am giving her away is because she was being given to my late daughter as a gift on her birthday by her grandmum but she died just 1 week latter after a serious car crash which also left me disabled.So i don’t think asking a bunch of $$$ is important in this case. All i need for them is FOREVER LOVE, CARE AND ATTENTION .I will need to travel for a serious knee surgery within 5 days from now So i cant just leave her all alone here.. All I need from you is to always keep me updated with pictures and info of her as she grows with you
She has her first shots and comes with a year health guarantee.She loves to be cuddled and Carried around and full of caressing and kisses.She come along with some food sample,health papers, air-conditioning A crate -Vet record -toys.

Now his english was not the best and every one of his emails was sent at 4am. I just assumed he was nocturnal lol.
He later claimed he was based in Miami FL and he’d ofcourse ship the pup to me as long as I paid $185. Which company? I asked, but no response. I asked to speak on the phone, but he wouldn’t/couldn’t do that. I asked for pictures of the dog with a paper with the date written on it or a pic of him and the dog but he couldn’t do that. I called him out as a fraud and his response “Im not a fraud pls. Im a poor old woman.”

These stories sound alot like this email ! Thank you I believe i might have gotten myself out of a scam . I copied and pasted the email so those of you can see what it says and the email address.

Thank you so much for the concern you have and also for your time regarding my two Yorkie Puppies which i am giving out for free adoption to any loving and caring home.Its a male and a female by names Lucy and Nick and are 11 weeks old,they are so intelligent and are Akc registered and they have all health papers intact here with me.
First of all my name is Susan,I am 32 years old,i live here in ,Helena Montana (USA) with my junior brother who is a soldier of the us army. These puppies where given to me by a cousin of mine who past away a few week ago,and i have recently discovered that these puppies need so much love and attention which can not be provided by us because i am very busy with my new job, and my brother too who is in the army is very busy. making these puppies to be so lonely at home when we are at work.So we consulted our pastor and family friend who advised us to give them out for free to any loving and caring home as a sign of respect to my cousin who past away.So we will be ready to give them if and only we are sure that the home we are sending them to will be the best for them.So friend we are not interested in selling these puppies but rather our much interest is their well being and everything will be fine.So where are you located?And which of these puppies will you love to take home?And how soon do you need these puppies?

i looked at craigs list and found the yorkie puppy scam…didnt no it was at first ,then when they answered my email and started with “god bless” i just knew it and then the whole “missionary” thing sealed it…seriously not good!! i lost my my liitle girl “cassie” a maltese/shizu 14yrs old,,2 mths ago , and thought i was ready for a new little girl in my life..was very excited to see this puppy ad, and thought why not, im ready..then the email and i just wanted to cry…what is wrong with these people? how dare they be alowed to do and get away with these scams? they shouod be hunted down and made to pay for such bullshit and lies….. seriously disapointed..

Thanks for your swift response as regard adopting my Yorkie. I want you to know that I and my family (my wife And 3 kids are on a missionary trip to West Africa) along with the 2 Yorkshire terrier Puppies.
So later on we noticed that the weather here In Africa is very bad for the puppies to sustain here with us on the missionary trip. So my wife and I decided to put the advert in CRAIGSLIST that we are Looking for someone to adopt our babies to the state back.
I am very glad that you are willing to take care of them and provide them a good and wonderful home they needed. And we’re visiting 5 countries.
We are giving these puppies out for adoption and we owe you many thanks for caring and asking about them. Right now there are so many factors and the weather is too hot for them to sustain here and we don’t want them to suffer in anyway.
