Scam Check: IGoMogul.com
- 10-14-2008
- Categorized in: Is this a Scam, Most Commented
We received a question like this:
IGoMogul and Exodus Web
Question/Comment: I was wondering if you know anything about the validity
of this company: IGoMogul.com. They also have sites, writezilla, and
postzilla, and purport to build/support web site development for people who
pay a $200 start up fee. I've read many complaints on
http://www.complaintsboard.com/, and I am unsure what to think.
We visited the website mentioned above and noted the feedback by some users regarding this site.
Most web savvy peopke would not require the service of a website like IGoMogul.com, because they (like us) probably know as much how to do it ourselves without getting a hole in our pocket. What you can do is to check out hotscripts.com, find a blogging script, buy a domain name (so you own it), and write your own blog. You can then insert PPC ads such as Google adsense or get a Yahoo publisher account and earn some from the website.
We somewhat didn't like the idea of a community of bloggers using the service from one company and being encouraged to visit each other's site to generate false traffic. This will eventually create a syndicate-like community where people would abuse the PPC ads by helping each other to click on them and making money from it, at the expense of the PPC ads advertiser. In the long run, this will be a lose-lose situation for everybody when no one believes in advertising on PPC (pay per click) system, and bloggers would lose their earnings as well. Cheating and false clicking on PPC ads will only damage the same machine that is supposed to help make some money.
Back to IGoMogul.com, this website was and the company Exodus Web Inc. owns about 3,476 domains probably hogging to lease to IGoMogul.com customers.
IGoMogul.com is pretty new. It was registered in 11 Apr 2007, but the company was probably around since 2006 as indicated on the website.
As we are unable to confirm the validity of the claims at the complains board, we are unable to make a statement to clarify if their complaints are true. As far as we know, they do deliver a website but the question is whether if what they delivered is able to meet users requirements.
If you have any comments or information about this website, please feel free to submit your comments below this post (do not email via our contact form).

It all sound all to familiar. Lies on top of lies and then they put a block on your call so you can't even talk to anyone. I have contacted both the BBB and the Attorney General and they make you out to be the quilty person and the Website Business , Igomugl, or exodus was right always. Juswt check all the complaints and basicly there all the same. Promises and lies lies and more lies. Then they drp you.
For whatever its worth, I worked at the igomogul.com office, located near 44th St. and Thomas in Phoenix. I started working as an editor and was then promoted to a management position. Within a few weeks of working as the head editor, I was shown how the company really worked. My boss, the owner of the company, Reza Akhavan, personally instrcuted me that the company targets "the elderly, the low-income, women, and anyone else who is probably not internet savvy" to sign up for internet-based business opportunities. In my job I literally had to bargain with and decieve a man who reminded me of my grandpa, a man who just wanted to earn some extra money while scrimping through retirement. It was all way too much for me right out of college and I soon quit.
The gist of my message is this: while the web-based income promised by igomogul.com, (now called websitebusiness.com) is theoretically possible, the management has truly stacked the deck against you. Mr. Reza Akhavan and his protege Kyle Winn are smart people who have figured out this scheme from every angle. I know this because for a few months I was actually paid to help them keep the scheme going through my position as a manager. For your hard-earned money you will get a website, but it will be 1.) crudely designed 2.) outdated technologically, and 3.) owned by websitebusiness.com. Save yourself the trouble, the lies, headaches, and most importantly, the money: Avoid igomogul.com, websitebusiness.com, Reza Akhavan and Kyle Winn at all costs.
I have two websites built by IGoMogul - www.ReverseAges.com and www.MidlifeMingle.com. As is true of any new skill, there is a learning curve.
IGoMogul patiently guided me step by step how to blog, how to advertise, and how to sell products on my website. The staff graciously complies with my suggestions about changing the color, format, and so.
People comment how beautiful my sites are, and want to know who built them. My experience with IGoMogul has been an outstandingly good journey.
rockbottomprices.com is owned by Kyle Winn (aka Bert Winn) Reza Akhavan is also shown on the Arizona BBB as a business management member. The Arizona BBB has this company as well as its partner companies exodusweb.com, igomogul.com and websitebusiness.com listed with an F rating. Rockbottomprices.com store is NOT an independant company, it is directly linked to these work at home, pay per click, review for cash scammers.
The items sold on this site are available from reputable stores with a long history of dependability. Check rockbottomprices.com out very carefully before adding them to your blog or website!
Ms. Allen...are you the attorney who was once counsel to TIFCO? If so how can I reach you?
Gary LeBoss
An attorney for websitebusiness.com/igomogul.com/exodusweb.com sent me a letter demanding that I sign a contract settlement with them.
This contract would obligate me to post a prepared statement by them saying that I defamed their "good" name and an apology. Which means I
forfeit the money I paid the company and admit to the world that I am a liar as well as dishonest, not them.
It also demands that I remove all negative comments made by me from any and all websites, blogs, forums and complaint boards.
Should I refuse they will sue me for falsely accusing them of fraud, misrepresentation, deceit, theft, predatory business practices, and
Breach of Contract.
Its ironic that my complaints were put on the net several years after several similar complaints, yet they are suing me for inflamatory
and inciteful actions which have caused them a significant loss of income.
The problem with my signing this contract is that even if I wanted to do so the number of people who have copied and re-posted my
complaint to other websites, blogs, forums and complaint boards have control over those so I could not remove them. This means that
immediately after signing the contract I would be in breach of contract, so they could file a new lawsuit against me.
As I stated before, companies like this know that their clients do not have the finances to hire a lawyer, as well as paying travel expenses
to Arizona for a legal battle, so they believe they can continue without consequences.
It is unlikely that the state and federal agencies will be taking action against websitebusiness.com/igomogul.com/exodusweb.com any time soon.
At this point it looks as if my husband and I will be taking out a second mortgage on our home to finance a defense. considering I am 54,
have a heart condition, high blood pressure, my husband has been un-employed for almost a year and his new job pays less than $25,000 a year,
I can honestly say it is likely that this is a mistake I will be paying for the rest of my life, litterally.
My family asked me if it was worth making so much out of this situation and I told them for me it was. If anyone read my complaints and
refused to give websitebusiness.com/igomogul.com/exodusweb.com their money then it was worth it.
Companies like this only work if people let them get away with the scam. I still maintain that if you have a complaint about them file with
IC3, FTC, Arizona Attorney General, Arizona Better Business Bureau, and your state Attorney General. Sooner of later it will make a
difference!
After recieving numerous complaints on the net as well as an F rating from the Arizona BBB, igomogul.com changed its company name to websitebusiness.com. There igomogul.com site redirects you to their new site and Arizona BBB has both listed on the same profile.
This is the same work at home, pay per click, review scam with a new name. If you have been contacted by anyone representing exodusweb.com, igomogul.com or websitebusiness.com file a complaint with Arizona BBB, Arizona Attorney General, IC3 and your states Attorney General, also contact 3 On you side at azfamily.com
This is a request that you please remove all of my comments about websitebusiness.com. I have settled my differences with them and am being issued a full refund. I would not like them posted anymore. Thank you.
And don't be fooled by positive comments on this post. Their business is writing posts, and they for sure have their "bloggers" trying to discredit truthful complaints about them, as you can tell from this message board.
igomogul.com is a scam
websitebusiness.com is a scam
If they call you ask for them to send you a written contract to read first. If they make promises that all you have to do is sign their work order first, don't do it. The work order justs talks about making a website it doesn't say anything about earning money.
Ask if they have a monthly charge, because they don't tell you anything about that when they call.
Don't give them your credit card information fo the $199 start up fees when they call.
The founder of this company, Reza Akhavan, lives in England, and he is Iranian so its an international mess trying to get law enforcement to investigate these con artist.
Just to enlighten you, Reza was born in the US
I now see the the site has changed its name to Website business developing and marketing.
I would like to add my story about my experience with igomogul but I do not know how to do it.
Heads up and worn others of this name change

Igomogul still controls the hosting files and without those I can not do anything with the website. While the good news is Igomogul can no longer do anything with the domain name, the bad news I can not do anything with the website.
This company has so many scamming tricks you know they have had much practice.
Further resarch has shown that Igomogul target women over the age of 50 with an income below $30,000 a year, with a limited education and no children.
Here is the link to verify this.
http://www.quantcast.com/igomogul.com/demographics
makes an account with godaddy listing you as the registrant, this is $10 a year. Once a person looks at the "who is" and sees they
are the registrant they are convinced they control the domain name. If they look at the bottom they will discover that it says
registrant can not delete, renew, transfer, or update the account. Should you call godaddy they will tell you that only the person
or company with the log on, password, PIN or account number has control over the domain account. As such the person or company with
that information can delete, renew, transfer, update, sell, give away, or close the account at any time without consent from the
registrant or their knowledge. Should the website fail Igomogul simply tells the registrant is it their fault. Should the website
prove successful Igomogul hs the legal right to sell it and keep th money. Furthermore the content placed on the website is
copyrighted to whom ever has the account information, so that also becomes the property of Igomogul.
Igomogul can use godaddy design and development tools to create the site, this cost less than $50 a year.
At the end of the first 90 days Igomogul demands more money, if you do not pay then they remove the ads from the free AdSense program
and the website now requires a membership log in fee. If you want links added to your webpage Igomogul asks for more money, again
this is a free program that they do not pay for. The bottom line is that Igomogul takes advantage of people who do not have the
experiance to realize everything provided by Igomogul is free or costs less than $100 a year.
Igomogul also uses your google account information to add Analytic, AdSense and the webmaster tool. All of these programs are free so
Igomogul pays nothing to use them. The webmaster tool is the most important one for Igomogul to have access too. Should godaddy
agree to transfer the domain account to you then Igomogul still controls the website through the webmaster tool. Once Igomogul has
the code to the webmaster tool you are locked out and can not verify ownership of the website or use it. At this point it is a
standoff, you can sell the domain name however Igomogul is the only ones with access to what is added or removed from it. The
website becomes worthless to both parties.
Igomogul knows the odds are in their favor that they will not have to refund any money. Most people have used their credit cards
to pay Igomogul and are accruing interest, hiring a lawyer and the added expense of traveling back and forth to Pheonix is also
beyond their means. Arizona small claims maximum is well below what most people have paid so they will take a loss if they persue
small claims and win. When faced with the options most people cut their losses, give up and go away.
Should you file complaints with the Arizona BBB then Igomogul says that if you sign a different agreement they will release
control to you. If you agree to sign then you forfeit all the money you have paid Igomogul and also agree not to persue any
further legal action against Igomogul. Why should you sign an agreement to take control of something that Igomogul was paid to create
for you and register ownership for you in your name?
Igomogul claims that the Statement of Work protects them from lawsuits and being forced to give you a refund. If you read the SOW
crefully youwill notice that it says they are working on a website for the client. Since Igomogul owns and controls the website
they are their own client and they are using your money to develop and design a website for themselves.
When push comes to shove and you demand verification of anything via email or mail Igomogul refuses, they insist all conversations
take place over the phone. If you should call them and you refuse to accept what they tell you they then begin playing a phone
shell game with you, transferring you from one person to the next until you give up. They want to play he said she said phone tag
so that you do not have any proof as to what was said over the phone.
I make mistakes.... alot ..... but unlike some people I'm not embarrassed to admit my mistakes and broadcast them, so that others might not make the same mistake. At this point in time I am willing to proceed with caution and discover for myself if I simply encountered an employee that was in a bad mood or if igomogul can live up to its promises. If at the end of the 90 days I discover that I'm a twice the fool I will be back with a vengence making my opinion known.
