OEM Definition Scam

Its not that you have not seen any offers of pirated softwares on the web, but we find the following definition interesting:

“OEM software means no CD/DVD, no packing case, no
booklets and no overhead cost!

So OEM is synonym for lowest price.

Buy directly from the manufacturer, pay for software ONLY
and save 75-90%”

These are definitely not the meaning of OEM software.

We have an earlier article regarding online shops selling pirated softwares, and the above are classified as Type 2, pirated softwares. Once you buy these softwares, they are illegal and may not be upgraded or patched by the original developers (depending on whether the developers included codes to block updating of pirated softwares). There are also other risks associated with buying illegal softwares, whether it will be delivered or just happened to be busted when you paid for the software.

Diverting to those sites dealing with free pirated softwares… nothing actually comes free. They are usually playing grounds for hackers, and your softwares may contain Malware or Virus. There is no 100% guarantee that your Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware can detect the malicious code, because it is a matter of relative time – which one comes out first? The new malicious code, or the detection database? If you happened to encounter a new malicious code when your Anti-Vice software is not updated yet, good luck either losing your precious info, files, waste of time reformatting harddisk, or even lose some of your hardware due to the codes. Yeah, some codes can force write over the same sector of your HDD thousands of times per second, burning up the sectors.

These are just some effects of using pirated software, and its meant to scare you off.
