Is this a scam: Bahamas Agent Job Offer
- 12-14-2008
- Categorized in: Is this a Scam, Most Commented
We received an email asking if a job offer by Bahamas Agent is a scam.
We have no information about this agent so far. However, we noted that the career page on the website does not have a job offer for agents working from home.
Another thing to check is the email address of the sender, make sure that it is from the same company by sending an email directly to them and asking for their direct reply. This helps to check to make sure that you are talking to who they claim they are. After that, we will need to find out more about the job offer.
If anyone has any information, leads, evidence or comments, please feel free to submit to through our comment section listed below.
16 Dec 08 Update:
We have updated this article and apparently the offer came from a scammer who uses a free email address.
The offer in this email is a scam, and is not from the real Bahamas Agent.

hello, im pretty sure without a doubt that i was scammed by a miss marshall babra who claims to be in the uk at the moment. she hired me for something the job posting didnt say. today she sent me the check that im supposed to deduct my pay from and send the rest to some guy. what should i do with the fake check and how should i handle this
I have received several similar responses from classifieds posted on Craigslist that are worded exactly the same though the main characters names are changed, i.e. Aaron Clark, Marshall Babra, etc. What is this scam? I have not been asked for money or SSN but their correspondence continues with nothing concrete. Obviously it's not a legit job offer but what it is exactly? Thanks to anyone who has information on these nutjobs.

Hopefully this info will spare someone else.
Hello,
I too after much searching found this site when "Bahama Mama Realty" and "Brian Serafini" (the "Senior Manager" name used when this same apparent scam was sent to me returned no google hits. The names have been changed from the ones listed in the other posts but otherwise the scam is the same. I also received an e-mail from this person with identical info as listed in other posts. After receiving an offer of employment and request for my bank account info so that my pay could be direct deposited, I searched harder and eventually found this site. As long as this scam has been recognized, I'd like to think that Monster could do more to weed it out. That said, I'm sure it/he/she (the scammer) would resurface with another scam. At least we could make it harder for this particular scam to continue on.

The job description is a little fishy to me, as one of the duties I supposedly would have is to "Receiving money from company and investing them to advertising through services like Google.Adwords, Clicksor, Wpromote" which seems to me rediculous becasue first it's supposed to be a customer service position NOT a marketing one and secondly, why would they need to pay me so that i can in turn market them online, when clearly they have internet access, and if they are such a big company they should already have a marketing firm to promote their services online.
It just seems all around fishy to me. Anyone who works with a real estate office should know something about real estate and have some experience in real estate and I have none so it's weird that a real estate agency would want me to work with them when i don't know the slightest thing about the bahamas or real estate, also why the heck are they based in Scotland if they are selling housing in the bahamas???

I just checked out the properties of the Word doc and the "company" line says "DreamTemplates" so he just grabbed the teamplate from somewhere. It was created on July 6th 2009 and printed on June 28th 2009. There is some arabic looking text on the Document Contents info pane.

I could tell this was a scam just by the email. It didn't make any sense and the format of it was nothing I'd ever seen a professional job recruiter write. I wonder whom I can report this guy to. Who did you guys report him to?
i guess it's back to job searching
