China Dating Scams
Watch out for alot of websites springing up offering to date with Chinese ladies
I have been chatting with a Chinese lady through the chnlove website (www.chnlove.com) and I hope to meet her on the 15th of July in Changsha. Though I have read some feedback on other websites saying that the lady I meet could be someone different from the photo. I have heard it could be a scam.
What are your views on this and are these stories true?
It depends. The best way is to meet them up in person, which means you have to fly over. Everything else on email are potentially bullshit.
I am considering going to China to meet someone I have been cooresponding with on the internet. Naturally I’m quite hesitant. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.
We think that it is ok. However, if the person is real (after meeting up), then they are looking more than simple romance. In fact, they are not interested in you, but your…

i did the same thing met on internet spoke for a year saw her on QQ,she seemed genuine, then I started to find out she had more than one QQ identity, she said it was normal.Like a fool I believed her sssssshe had many men fdriends so she said they were just friends. I half believed her. I went to china to meet her, she was the same woman , good start she then said to me I am not a free woman , I thought god shes married, She said not. She had not taken any time off work to see me but came every lunchtime and evening to see me. mainly to get me to buy her a meal ang take all the freebies from my hotel room, over the two weeks she took over 20 pairs of slippers. On one day she took me shopping and started looking at a camera and asked my opinion, I said I thought it was expensive, but she said she liked it and negotiated with the staff to buy it..She then turned to me and asked me to pay for it,I got up and walked out of the shop. She followed me nd said she wanted to see her sister so I said OK, she took me to an office where she said her sisterwas . It turned out to be a chinalove office and the sister was a friend? she sais they could translate for her, again I showed my displeasure and we left after 5 minutes. She put the tears on and I felt sorry,I continued for two weeks I had a nice hotel but little NO we saw relatives and friends. At the end of two weeks I came home she saw me off at airport and said she was sad and missed me.I rang her from paris to say I was nearly home. She was having a party getting drunk and squealing with delight at something. When I got home she said we were not compatible and has cut off communication with me. She cost me about £600 over the two weeks and was aiming to spend £1000 of my money. So if you see her name of which she had a few,{nina, linda ,carrie, and now Yi ,ZouYI.} fron WUHAN, avoid her like the plague . She is what I think is a scammer. what do you think. I did tell her she was a scammer and that I would put her photo and my story in the local press, she didnt like that at all. This is the start of that process. by naming her
It’s almost impossible to weed out all the potential problems. I got to know a filipina online, cam to cam over many months. I could contact her at almost anytime day or night by cellphone. She sent me gifts. Things heated up. I flew to visit her and she seemed lovely. A week of bliss. I met her cousins and siblings. I began to send her enough for foods and rent. We made plans to see each other again and spoke of our future. In the end, following instinct, I texted her by another number with a fake name. “Remember me? It’s bob? I miss you”. “Yes of course, Bob, you know I love you. Let’s meet soon”. Turns out she had many bfs, one kid, and one cooperative husband. I confronted her, she admitted it all. Lesson learned. Her last words to me were, ”could you still send me for next month’s rent”? If I were to do it again, I’d use a professional and check your lady out before she checks out.
for the one coming to Changsha what is a good way to contact you i am in changsha for 2 months and there is one in changsha that claims to be a match maker and she is a con the girls are for real and most dont know what is happening she uses the same site and a couple more she just had someone come from USA to meet a woman i know that knew very little about what was going on in fact she chatted very little with this person it was the match maker, there are alot of good women here dont let the cons scare you off
if they will not get on webcam and they ask for money dont waste your time walk away
Shawn that’s true. I’m a chnlove member. Quit paying them a couple months ago. I think they aren’t so much a scam as they are money-grubbing and take advantage of the guys – pretty dishonest practices. But there are some really good ladies there. The key is to find one that’ll communicate AWAY from their website – and make sure you have enough money to arrange a meeting with somebody early-on… if they refuse webcam & direct contact, just stop. also, the older ladies are the real ones for the most part … at least mid-30′s. Younger girls … just want what you can give them.
I met chinese woman on the chineseskissess.com I would never imagine she would be a scammer her promisses to me and her passport copy with the Chinese ID single status and oh so many pictures professionally taken were so true looking I believed she was true with me. So I got invloved and sent her money for her coming to me as she promissed to me that she will come to me to Canada for sure. It never come to this she always caused some probllems and asked for more money. Ok, I would continue with her if she let me to see her on the webcam or let e to come to see meet her in China Jilin City , she did not like the idea so I quit her and I asked my money back, I know I will never get it though she promised to me it is for us and our future marriage. I wish now to report her and give all the informations and documents to Chinese authorities. What would be the best way to report this to make the best impact to prevent her from doing this to anyone else in the future?
You should post her at Dragonladies.org
You were most likely in contact with a West African scammer, who is a resident of China.
If you check the IP from any email she sent, you will probably see the email came from a province different than where she claimed to be, and most likely from the Guangdong province, a hotspot of West African scammers.
You were smart to break it off at the money request, as well as when the lady refuses to show a face on cam.
