Ok, for once I am not going to say that if you spot a free email address sender, it must be a scam. Many of us use free email address to communicate even in business. So far, we have seen at least one real company using HotMail account to deal with their job applicants. However, in such cases we normally proceed to deal with them unless they start to request payment (for fees, etc) before anything else. According to reliable sources, no foreign commercial company should require you to pay anything before going over to work. If in doubt, you can always check with the local embassy.
However, we still think that this is a scam because it is an unsolicited offer received via email, and its authenticity cannot be confirmed. And why are they using Yahoo! HK mail?
Secondly, the reason for the job is ridiculous:
"We discovered that since we started business in The USA and CANADA, we have been having problems getting payments from Our customers as it was very uneasy for them to send payments to our Offices, supplier or farmers directly considering the time frame Required processing foreign Checks (30 Days and above). We decided to hire
individuals over the Internet who will help us receive and Process payments in your country and then forward to any of our Offices or farmers, which we designate."
The truth is that it is likely to be "most efficient" to collect payment from customers in the US and Canada, as compared to some other countries.
The words highlighed in Red above is obviously asking you to become a Money Mule for their 419 scams, or other frauds. This means that they will be asking their victims(Money Mule) to send the money to them, through you. So if the victim of their scams contact the police, they will be looking for you.
Thirdly, the 10% commission is very high, considering the simple job of receiving and remitting the money to another account. It is not even a commission for sales. Considering the cost of sales, shipment, markup, and other add-ons, we feel that such a commission rate is too good to be true.
We have also visited the website at http://www.costacoffee.co.uk, but the contact us form is not working at the present moment. In any case, we always believe in contacting the parent company via their official website. If possible, find out the information from the UK yellowpages and call the company directly.
In any foreign employment, it is recommended to make sure that the company exist, is a registered business, and that you are speaking to the right person. And most of the time, don't believe in any of such offers from unsolicited emails or free classifieds ads.

I've known a woman on Yahoo for a few weeks, and didn't think too much of our conversations, until she asked me for some help doing something for her. She asked me to receive cash from *clients* in the U.S. and then send it to her in Nigeria. She told me she was employed by Costa Coffee in the UK, part-time.. She said Costa Coffee didn't have any offices set up in the US and she had no way of getting the money there*Nigeria* without my assistance .She supposedly is from Woodbine, GA, USA, but in Nigeria to be with a friend who came down with Typhoid disease..*lol*.. Asked if I would pick up *CASH*, from where I live and wire it to her in Nigeria. I went to Costa Coffee to ask if she WAS employed with them, but found no way to get in touch with this company. I saw your post and thought I'd reply. I'm not foolish enough to do as she asked, but wonder HOW many people are?..
Thanks, SpiderinFL |

To the care giver.....if you deposit the checks, wait until they clear before forwarding any funds. Also, if they are fraudulent, your bank may close your account/s, and hold you liable for the drafts. I got one and deposited it with Wells Fargo, and it was a mess to straighten out, to the point that since I deposited it in an ATM that I was commiting wire fraud, and could be federally prosecuted!!!!

As a working mother of two I am always looking for a few ways to earn a few extra dollars for play money. Recently my mailboxes have been full of get rich quick scams. Yesterday it was a letter about starting your own mailing list. Send six people a dollar, put your name on the letter and mail 200 plus coppies. $800,000 could be yours in a matter of weeks. Then today I need someone to cash my checks in the U.S. for Costa Coffee. I googled both of them and found more articles about them being a scam than a legitimate business. If they come looking for you, It ain't worth it. The lottery winnings also are a scam. If you have your doubts check and recheck their sights before you even enter in any of your personal information. Most of us want to earn a few extra bucks but if it come to you run, your better off taking your chance and spending a dollar at the gas station for the winning lottery ticket, at least then you know Uncle Sam is the only one ripping you off there.

I was approached on SKYPE by a woman claiming to be with the Costa Company. She asked me to process money orders for them. In essence the job offer was to mail out money orders and I would earn about $1.00 per envelope. She sent me a picture of a very attractive woman and started flirting. When I wouldn't bite on the "job offer" she kept on chatting and it was a quite pleasant conversation until she got around to the fact that she was being terminated and needed almost $1000.00 to fly back to the states and the only way I could get her the money was by Western Union. Thats when I deleted her contact. But, her name, or alias, is Rachel Anderson.
