2 Nigerian scammers were caught on video by ABCNews. Apparently, they
scammed a heart surgeon by the name of Timothy the amount of
US$300,000+, for a luggage of 'black money'. Timothy was scammed
into believing that he can buy a special and expensive chemical to clean
away the black coloured dye on some 'black money'. The usual
explanation by scammers is that the money is dyed black to avoid detection by
customs.
After finding out that he was scammed, Doc called his friend from ABCNews for
help. Timothy managed to invite the scammers in for round two, but this time with one of the TV producers and his video crew. Half-way through the Con session, the video crew decided to walk out and expose the scammers... watch the scammer cry.

You make out the guys running the scam as criminals, but what about the guy buying the chemicals? He didn't think he was pulling a scam himself? Where is the moral questioning of a guy who's buying chemicals to get money for "free" that should have been destroyed or is procured from drugs or whatever? I think the guys buying the money are equally guilty of scamming, except they were getting taken by someone else of equally questionable moral fiber.

Not sure if I understand your point. I do not think the guys who were scammed into buying the chemicals can be called scammers.

Um, I didnt see anyone get arrested or anyone saying they'd call the cops, and I dont see the guy getting his money back.
Even the story was cut away from to the META story about how great ABC news is for setting this up. Where's the justice here? I dont see much result cept making a guy cry. Was that worth $340K ? Sides, only the greedy can get dragged into 419 scams. If you werent greedy in the first place, you wouldnt be played. Requires a certain flexible morality to get taken like that. |
