A point to note regarding scam mails is that the sender's email address may be faked. That is to say, they can fake the email addresses from where the email originates. However, the email address within the mail itself will usually be the real email which you can contact the scammers.

UK lottery scams appear in various emails. You don't have to see the actual, similar email to know that it is a scam. There is no lottery company that will email you (unsolicited) informing that you have won the prize.
