As you can see from the video below, the scam started with the keyboard being swapped, and thus allowing the scammers to receive the typing records from a remote location. This is what we called social engineering, i.e. someone to infiltrate into the building as a "trusted person" and replacing the keyboard (sabotaging). It is organised crime.
An easier method which others people have been doing online is through the use of trojans and viruses. That is why in our other articles, we have recommended to install updated copies of the best anti-virus
and internet security softwares. If you need to access your private information on a particular machine, we recommend ensuring that it is in a secured location. Never use public PC to login to your sensitive accounts, and use different passwords for different types of account.... the list goes on.
